Epicoma melanospila- Black spot moth or Black-spotted Epicoma (female)

            The Black-spotted Epicoma is a moth of the family Notodontidae (Prominent Moths). It is found in Australia.  The Black spot moth feeds on plants, usually without causing significant harm. The eggs are laid on a leaf of a foodplant, and covered by the female with hairs from her body. That could be the reason for the female's seemingly excessive hair.  Seen in bushland near Hobart, Tasmania. Technical notes: NiSi close up lens attached to front of tele zoom lens which which allows much closer focussing similar to a macro lens.
