LEGO: Bayer old logo - a photo on Flickriver

            These are my old LEGO logo Bayers.
Some very nice colors in there.

I just noticed besides the dark trans-orange I have now added a trans-red.
(not in this picture yet)

The collection keeps growing, even after 7 or 8 years of collecting.
Most of these are CA, but there are some ABS in there too.

Most 'normal' colors are in there, like red, blue, yellow, transparent and white.
But black is mostly missing....
This may simply be because it's hard to detect a black Bayer amongst black LEGO.

The bricks with the holes all have the same mistake, so it was an on going mold mistake.

All bricks are different, either in color, plastic or mold.

2023 update Sven:
“In October 2021 I presented a LEGO History Display at the LEGO event Bricks@friends in Cologne. I also presented my Bayer bricks there. On Sunday afternoon a mother, around 40 years old, suddenly stood in front of my exhibition with her little daughter and said: "Look, these are the bricks that mom made in her apprenticeship!" I got big elephant ears and asked this woman for futher informations. She knew the whole story about Bayer bricks and told me that at least until 2009 (the end of her apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant at Bayer) the molding machine from the 1960s was housed in the Bayer Dormagen laboratory and trainees experimented with different plastics on this molding machine. The experiments were mostly about colors. The Bayer factory in Dormagen is located between Cologne and Düsseldorf, in the vicinity of Leverkusen. She couldn't tell me whether the molding machine is still there today. In any case, she was able to confirm to me that the maschine was used there until the end of the 2010s. When I asked whether I should have her contact details for further questions, she unfortunately answered in the negative. Her husband was pretty upset that we'd talked for so long. But she answered my question whether there are photos of the machine from the time in Dormagen. She didn't have any, and taking pics was prohibited in the laboratory.
Unfortunately, I had no choice but to thank her for this interesting informations.”
