Mysterious 600 - a photo on Flickriver

Mysterious 600

            It's 2am in the Southern Highlands township of Picton, the fogs rolled in and the crew work tirelessly to unload old rail off train no. 2M41. Southern Shorthaul Railroads South Australian DL-541 Alco locomotive 602 is on the Sydney end of the train, while it's NSW counterpart, 4532, another DL-541 Alco, is on the Southern end of the train. The train has spent the day going back and forth between Picton and Shiels Hill, just north of Maldon, loading & unloading rail. Once the train has finished unloading here at Picton, the train will work back to Shiels Hill as 2M42. Sunday, 23rd April 2023.
