Grey heron - a photo on Flickriver

Grey heron

            This was taken over a month ago but I had completely forgotten about it (not hard to do considering what happened subsequently!). I had gone out early in an effort to photograph great crested grebes however by the time I got any decent light the grebes had disappeared. The morning was saved by this heron though that flew in and started fishing along the edge of the pond I was next to.
