Royal Coachman Fly

            Royal Coachman is an artificial fly and is popular and widely used for freshwater fly fishing, particularly for trout and grayling. It is one of the oldest known fly in fly fishing and was first made in 1878 by John Hailey, a professional fly dresser from New York. I used Royal Coachman about 30 years ago to catch Arctic Grayling and Bull Trout in the foothills of the Rockies in Alberta.
