In A SD45-2 Down by The River - a photo on Flickriver

            Conrail SD45-2 6659, born in 1972 as Erie Lackawanna 3674 and currently known as Norfolk Southern 1702, was basking in the winter light in Johnstown during its career as a helper in the Altoona pool.

Conrail's C Tower was in the background. I'm not sure if it was still active at the time or if it even still exists. The cold waters of the Conemaugh River are to the right.

I always dug the looks of these beasts, with the big 5000-gallon fuel tank and off-center Leslie RS3L on the roof-top. I hope when NS pulls the plug on this crafty veteran, it can donate her to a museum for all to enjoy.
