Through the Swamp and Over the River

            CSX Office Car Special P001-15 was crossing the Anacostia River behind three former Amtrak F40PHs on an early morning trip through a seedy part of the most wretched hive of scum and villainy in the United States, Washington, DC.

Who knows how many discarded weapons and bodies lay beneath the surface of that murky water.

The train had overnighted in Richmond and made an unusually quick trip up the RF&P on the way to Cumberland, and eventually Chicago, another wretched hive of scum, villainy, corruption, and straight-up murder.
