Dixmoor's Diesels - a photo on Flickriver

Dixmoor's Diesels

            A visit to NRE's Dixmoor facility in 2006 revealed a few Alaska Railroad GP49s, a BNSF SW1200 and a CSX MOW GP40. 

Back then, you could get a release to roam the grounds and photograph all you wanted, as long as you obeyed the rules. And of course, the foamers didn't follow the rules and NRE soon banned visitors.

In 2020, NRE announced that Dixmoor will be closed and scrapped most of what was still around.
