I Can’t Just Be in the Mountains (Great Basin National Park)

            I Can’t Just Be in the Mountains
I must find life there
That cool breeze that blows from an unknown somewhere
The clouds that float by and stir an imagination
Blues in the skies that are deeper than ever seen
Aspens that shimmering green and yellow in Autumn
I can’t think of a better place to be
And not share it with another. 

Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon in Great Basin National Park. This was while walking around a parking area after a short hike in some nearby woods. The view is looking to the northeast at an unnamed peak off in the distance. What drew me into the setting was the way the landscape seemed to unfold in a layered look. Nearby was the tall grasses and sagebrush leading up to a grove of aspens and other evergreen trees. Next came a ridge cutting across with a more distant peak beyond that had a look of granite from the white color. Above was blue skies with clouds floating by.
