PO Corrèze - a photo on Flickriver

PO Corrèze

De mooie Mallet 101 is in 1906 door Blanc-Misseron gebouwd voor de metersporige lijnen vanuit de Frans plaats Tulle. De smalspoorlijnen waren in exloitatie bij de grote spoorweg-maatschappij PO, de Chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans. In 1938 ging de PO op in de toen nieuw gevormde SNCF. In 1969 werd de reizigersdienst gestaakt en een jaar later reed ook de goederentrein op het smalspoor\van de voormalige PO Corrèze voor het laatst.

Locomotief 101 maakte deel uit van een serie van vier stuks waarvan er twee bewaard zijn. Hiervan is de 101 rijvaardig gerestaureerd. De machine is ondergebracht bij de Voies Ferrées du Velay. De VFD rijdt met historisch Frans smalspoormaterieel tussen Raucoules-Brossette en Saint-Agrève. Dat is een deel van het vroegere, réseau du Vivarais in de Auvergne.
