De sneltram rijdt uit beeld - a photo on Flickriver

Als losse wagen is tramstel 5012 in de avond van 29 mei 2020 onderweg naar IJsselstein. Het zijn de laatste uurtjes dat het klassieke sneltrammaterieel van Utrecht naar Nieuwegein en IJsselstein rijdt. Via de Jutfasebrug over het Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal zullen de trams nog een maandje te blijven rijden. De sneltrams blijven immers nog even dienst doen tussen Utrecht en het transferium Westraven. Daarna is het over, de werkzaamheden om de gehele sneltramlijn geschikt te maken voor exploitatie met lagevloertrams zijn al in volle gang.
