King of Bushy Park … - a photo on Flickriver

            … his Majesty had a rather busy morning.

His harem was neatly surrounded by no less than eight very enterprising younger stags. He kept them at bay just by his menacing poses and yelling at the occasional wayward hind.

But his rivals were wearing him down, staging mock fights among themselves to demonstrate how fit and ready they were.

I left before first blood was drawn, but it was only a matter of time.
