Bastion Ceglarski and Polish Hill in Wroclaw

            Ceglarski Bastion – the old defensive bastion dating back to the 1585, a part of former city fortifications. 
The present Polish Hill is situated on the site of former Ceglarski Bastion which formed a part of modern town fortifications.After 1807 the bastion turned into a scenic hill on Staromiejska Promenade. During the siege of Wrocław in 1945 the casemates became a battle field hospital and at the foot of the hill the victims were buried. Ceglarski Bastion has not remained until today but we can see the red brick casemates, orillon and southern wing with the guns and a rusticated portal. The hill is surrounded with waters of the Oder and Gondola Bay.
