IXL, Jams - a photo on Flickriver

IXL, Jams

            I've already described how the Henry Jones IXL Company used these waterside buildings for more than a century. The beginning for the end of the company came when it was bought by corporate raider John Elliott of Elders in 1982. Just 7 years later it was sold to another firm and was simply absorbed into the SPC label. In the 1980s such buying and stripping of old companies was commonplace, as seen in the movie "Wall Street". So to honour a once great Tasmanian company, I wanted to process this picture in monochrome.
