El observatorio solar más antiguo de América. Chankillo, Casma, Ancash 🇵🇪

            Al sur de la ciudad de Casma, en medio del desierto, se yerguen unas enigmáticas estructuras de piedra de 2.300 años de antigüedad: un centro ceremonial que incluye una imponente fortaleza y trece torres que forman un horizonte artificial “dentado” que marca las posiciones del sol. Las investigaciones recientes demuestran que estas construcciones guardan relación exacta con el movimiento del sol a lo largo del año, lo cual prueba que servían como un calendario solar para los antiguos pobladores de la zona. Este descubrimiento inserta a Chankillo en la reducida y exclusiva lista de los observatorios más antiguos del mundo.
