            My dad once drunkenly entered my room in the middle of the night and explained to me that he couldn't just tell me Everything, that he had to be a dam, letting through only the information (about the world, presumably) that I could handle. 

And that's how I feel about photos! See, a happy ending! Sure, I'd love to just post all 40 shots from this day, the digitals, the Polaroids, the medium format shots, maybe post the shots my buddy Ian took of me while I did my thing with Brittany...but it'd be too much! You, The People, couldn't properly absorb what I want to show you, if I just put it all out at once. 

Same reason I don't show my subjects all the photos. Context. Only a few are really bangers, really A material. That's how I want you to think of this day, these shots, this subject, me! 

What I show you...not necessarily The Truth, but what I want you to see, and you're here because you like what I show you...ah, all of life, just a series of performances.
