            The Pacers are still going strong on the ex-L&YR Penistone line!

 Northern Class 144 diesel multiple unit 144019 is seen crossing Longroyd Viaduct with train 2B05 the 07.12 Huddersfield to Sheffield service. It will soon enter Lockwood tunnel at the other end of which is the first station stop at Lockwood. Arrival at Sheffield will be at 08.28.

With all the usual growth of “weed trees” the viaduct doesn’t look quite so impressive as it used to from up here. I was in the meadow above the mouth of Gledholt Tunnel on the ex-LNWR Standedge route
