Captured in July 2019, where I arrived for a day out on the small Isle of Bute at exactly the same time as the start of the islands first ever Pride March. I had wondered why there were so many rainbow flags on the ferry! Naturally I broke out the camera and got to work with some shots and portraits but I joined in for a short walk too, my first ever walk in a Pride March.

The current confected culture wars attacking people within the LGBTQI community are abhorrent with dehumanising language, hate and abuse not dissimilar to that faced by minority groups in 1930s Europe. Decent people just living their lives true to themselves are being hurt and killed as a result.

We all deserve to live our lives, true to ourselves, in peace and with respect.

I will not tolerate any hate or abuse towards the LGBTQI+ community in comments or messages here on Flickr. It is sad that I even have to mention this but any such comments will result in the account being blocked and reported.

Choose love and not hate.

Love is love.
