On a dreary and drizzling day in Glasgow I caught a candid shot of this guy, admiring his tight smartness, and he immediately introduced himself. I offered him a 'proper' portrait and he was happy to do so, although a little pushed for time. I quickly relocated here, for a little shelter from the rain, and captured a few shots using natural light only.

James, from Ayrshire, told me that he was a Parachute Infantry Regiment veteran, as his tie proudly shows, and gave me a brief story of his journey up the ranks. A man clearly full of pride, I had a hard time trying to get him to relax for the portrait rather than standing to attention which came very naturally to him. James told me that he does not have an email address for me to send the image to him, he doesn't even have a mobile phone. I remember those days! Still, a proud man with a proud pose in the portrait and I hope that he would like it. Enjoy!
