Casper The Friendly Pooch - a photo on Flickriver

Street portrait from Glasgow, Scotland. I asked this homeless man if he would allow me to make a portrait of him and, after explaining that I hadn't singled him our personally because I photograph anyone and everyone, he was happy to oblige as long as his pooch was in the frame too. I loved that his face looked like it had seen such a great deal of life in contrast with Casper, who could barely see beyond his own fur.

This is full frame, un-cropped. I wanted to get as close as possible while keeping them both in frame at 35mm, to momentarily step into his world. I gave the guy a little something towards a warm drink and some pooch food, told him that they both looked beautiful and thanked him kindly for his time. Enjoy!
