Heading up the wash... 20140511_1810

            This was shot in 2014 during an exploratory hike to prepare for scrambling up to the top of The Great Wall in Arches National Park. I didn't get very far because of the lateness of the day. 

It had rained earlier in the day, doing damage to the walls of the wash and scouring the bed. There were no tracks of humans or animals in the wash.

A year later I followed this same wash and completed the scramble on a day that was mostly sunny. In the album, the sunny photo of my car marks the start of the 2015 hike.
