Treasure of the Snake Queen - a photo on Flickriver

            Awhile ago my friend Flynn DeMarco built a LEGO creation called “Treasure of the Snake Queen “ that won Best in Show at a convention in California. While this is not even close in execution to his LEGO creation, I told him I would use the title eventually in a piece of art. For this one I researched 30’s era pulp magazines and used only brushes and techniques that existed in that time like oil, ink and gauche. As these are brushes I’m not yet accustomed to it took some experimentation to get the effects just right. I even incorporated some aging processes; brushes called “fresco” and “old bleach” to give it just a bit of fading and mottling. Needless to say this was tons of fun to do. Hope you like it, Flynn!
