Adornments - a photo on Flickriver

            This was taken at a recent Spitalfield's Colour Walk, a monthly event where people who are so inclined dress to the nines and meet up to show each other their outfits, some of which are pretty out there. I heard about this event from another Flickr photographer - Robert French - who posted a number of shots from the event in the month previous to this one. The best thing is that all the participants are quite happy to be photographed. The worst thing is that there are hordes of other photographers there so one gets the feeling that whatever you shoot is not going to be unique. 

I think what it's taught me is that:
1. It's not a type of photography that I particularly enjoy. I'd much sooner have a candid shot.
2. It's not a genre of photography that I'm particularly good at. Many of the photographers were directing their subjects while I always prefer to stay in the background.
