Flikfly, the herald (Scoliopteryx libatrix)

            A few years ago i wouldn't have thought that you could go out and find moths in the coldest months of the year, but the last christmas vacation i got a couple of new moths on my list. I've heard that some moths were hibernating inside caves, bunkers and mines during the winter time, and after some searching, i found what i was looking for: the tissue and the herald. 

As well as the herald and the tissue, i found Many-plumed moth (Alucita hexadactyla), autumn green carpet (Chloroclysta miata
) and small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) hibernating at various locations in southern Norway.
