A Changeable Hawk Eagle gliding above the forest

            Resident raptors in India found throughout the year in dense forests of India. These eagles are formidable hunters and target small birds, reptiles, mammals in the forests. The call too is quite easy to id and they are heard often in the forests in our state.

Shot at a hillside temple overlooking a forest valley - the bird was hunting and was looking at monkeys and giant squirrels both of which are found in goog numbers in that area. 

It surveyed for a while and then flew and circled around a small area for a while hoping to catch something. But then the prey must have disappeared, so it flew away deeper into the forest.
