Dreamy... #Helios #Helios44M-4 - a photo on Flickriver

            So, I had my second Helios Lens delivered this week, my other is the Helios 44M 58mm, quite an outstanding lens but this lens the Helios 44M-4 58mm has actually 'wowed' me! This is the first image I took and straight out the camera, what a gorgeous lens this the Helios 44M-4 58mm. When reading reviews on all seven 58mm Helios lenses it was explained that when this lens was in production that the swirly bokeh was seen as a fault and so was the softness. All these years on these vintage lenses are producing everything we try to achieve and post edit in our software. This literally is the result. Its dreamy and soft, and yes, you wouldn't use this lens for architecture or still life (maybe still life) or street photography, but for nature and flowers and portraits what stunning results it will produce for these categories. You need to practice focus though, for which I am a dab hand as I am used to manual lenses and have a steady hand. You need to be good at composition and then you will get the most divine finish to your images without even using post editing software.
