Bullrushes - a photo on Flickriver

Bullrushes

            This was taken back in September, not 200 yds away from the busy M62 motorway.

The massive development around Castleford in West Yorkshire has been very sucessful and one of the benefits has been the reclamation of the old spoil heaps that used to dominate the area.

These bullrushes are thriving alongside two balancing ponds made to eleviate flooding, they are situated between Glasshoughton and Cutsyke.

This shot was a bit of a DOF exercise and I have tonemapped the original RAW file into a psuedo HDR although I have kept the tonemapping to a minimum and only given it a sharpness tweak in  Photoshop CS4.
