Old Market Cross, Swine Market - a photo on Flickriver

            I hear people ask “Why a cold & wet and dark picture” my answer is……When I was about 13 years old in school, the teacher was talking about seeing the world differently. And to demonstrate this he asked some of us to stand on our desks… And he was right, the class looked totally different, as we were seeing it from a different angle and perspective. 

It would be easy to post a picture that has been posted many times before, with blue skies and the sun shining.

 I worked for many years for British Telecom, in mobile sales and calls & lines. In coaching some of our sales advisors, they would try the same telephone sales patter even though it was not working for them. They would never change and just call after call say the same things with the same result.

A lovely lady who coached me when I first started for BT, quoted me a saying and it has always stuck with me ever since.

"If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you've always got. "

Many people attribute this quote to Albert Einstein.

I don’t care who it came from, but it’s works for everything in life, sometimes you have to change to makes things work better for you.

The town was granted a charter to hold markets and fairs in the 13th Century. The weekly market is held in the Market Square nowadays, leaving this smaller yard to residents. 

There was also a horse market, standing at the back of where I took this shot. That building also is still standing.
