Houseboats in North Vancouver - a photo on Flickriver

            Another shot from North Van with downtown Vancouver in the background. Must be nice to live in one of these houseboats/floating homes.

My husband just bought a new zoom lens so we took some similar shots yesterday at similar settings and I have to say, I'm quite disappointed with how my lens fared, especially considering we were both doing hand-held and his lens has no stabilizer/OS system whereas mine does - but you'd never know it. Admittedly his new lens (a Tamron) was about the twice what I'd paid (for a Sigma) but the results were a bit of an eye-opener and I'm now wondering if my lens - WITH stabilization - is even working properly. I've generally always been happy with Sigma lenses and simply always assumed any softness with this particular one was likely my own fault. Hmmmm.
