„ When it became evident that a new town hall was needed in Bensberg, the city fathers decided to superimpose the new building over the ruins of a castle in the old town center. The ensuing competition was won in 1962 by Gottfried Böhm, whose proposal involved a richly styled sculptural structure. The additions in exposed concrete make the fragmented castle into a new whole, which very confidently faces the somewhat higher lying imposing baroque castle.…”
