Ronda - a photo on Flickriver

Ronda

            Ronda es una ciudad de la provincia española de Málaga que está situada sobre un profundo desfiladero. Ese desfiladero (el Tajo) separa la nueva ciudad, que data de aproximadamente del siglo XV, del casco antiguo, que se remonta a la época del dominio árabe. En el Puente Nuevo, un puente de piedra que se extiende sobre el desfiladero, hay un mirador con vistas.
 El incomparable fenómeno de esta ciudad, asentada sobre la mole de dos rocas cortadas a pico y separadas por el tajo estrecho y profundo del río, se correspondería muy bien con la imagen de aquella otra ciudad revelada en sueños. El espectáculo de esta ciudad es indescriptible, y a su alrededor, un espacioso valle con parcelas de cultivo, encinas y olivares. Y allí al fondo, como si hubiera recobrado todas sus fuerzas, se alza de nuevo la pura montaña, sierra tras sierra, hasta formar la más espléndida lejanía.
