May & sax - naked portait - a photo on Flickriver

From "The Naked Portrait" series. There is something special in the look of a head-and-shoulders portrait taken when naked – often this can be missed because the viewer naturally wants to take in the whole view. I am therefore making a series of "naked portraits", cropped from original nude photos, which can also be flagged "safe" so they can be seen by a wider range of people. For some of them (including this one) the full frame has been archived and is no longer on display.

From the end of a series of photos of the beautiful saxophonist May visiting us in France taken out in the rolling Charantaise countryside. As the sun was low in the sky we found this open field on top of a gentle hill with a view over the empty landscape for miles in every direction. In the warm evening air May was happy to be just herself at one with the landscape and her music...
I was taking carefully not-very-revealing side views but as she was playing this completely failed when she leaned forward - this was her reaction when I told her (evidently not too concerned!)
