As in many cities, increased rates of Covid-19 infection caused the big Christmas market in the central square (Maximiliansplatz) to be cancelled this year. But the city has allowed a few stands to be set up in widely separated areas. This one along the Regnitz River at the Old Harbor in the city center sells typical winter sweets including roasted and candy-coated almonds and fruit covered with chocolate. The stand is in front of an old harbor crane preserved as cultural heritage. The Old City Hall and other landmarks are in the background. [SNY00374_lr_2000]
