            The Buller River next to Hawks Crag in the Lower Buller Gorge, Buller, New Zealand.  The river is flowing right to left. At least 30 minutes before sunrise.

15 seconds at f/8, 17mm on an APS-H sensor (1.3 x crop factor).
Cropped top and a little off the bottom, and adjusted the black point.  Was going to tone down the cold blue light but that it what it was - cold blue light!

There is a bit of a back story to this pic.  I had been to Westport with a few of our camera club members to check out facilities for the Photographic Society of New Zealand (PSNZ) Southern Regional Convention to be held in October 2016.  Our club ran the individual salon and interclub competitions, while the Buller club organised the convention itself.. 

Anyway, I decided to stay an extra night and spend the whole of the next day (Monday) slowly heading back across the Lewis Pass to Christchurch.  But late on the Sunday night the weather forecast was for snow on the passes, so I got up before 6am Monday morning and the forecast was for snow on all the mountain passes, but the Lewis would be after 9am.  So I packed the car and was leaving Westport at 6:45am.  But I just had to stop at a couple of places to get the images in the dawn light.  If the forecast was for no snow I would have been passing here at least two hours later!

There was snow on top of the Lewis, but not on the road, and I ended up getting home early as it was west of the Lewis that I had planned on spending several hours taking pics.  Oh well - next time!
