Ma and Pa Kettle on the road - a photo on Flickriver

On Thursday 15 June, we made a non-stop, 13 hour trip from Albuquerque to San Antonio.
After friends of ours had come through towing their little Scamp camper trailer, Kim got the yearning for one too.
She found a small camper called a Casita, being sold on consignment from a RV dealer in San Antonio. We put a deposit down. We got a trailer hitch installed on the Outback. We headed down to check it out.
As you can see, we purchased it.
And here we are channeling our inner Lucy and Desi from The Long, Long Trailer.
Kim was a bit apprehensive about driving and towing, so she drove first, out of San Antonio and all the way to Fort Stockton.
Then I drove the last couple hours up to Carlsbad where we spent our first night in the little camper.
Thank heaven for RV hookups and air conditioning.
114ºF on the drive and 110ºF at Brantley Lake in Carlsbad.
