There's always a piper on the British side during the battles. And it's always cool to hear the bagpipes as the battle rages (must be my Scottish genes). BUT, at some point in time, the crowd breathes a collective sigh of relief when he gets shot. And he always gets shot.

By the way, this guy is a very good piper. He's been the piper at these reenactments for years.

Technical: In the past, spectators haven't been able to sit at the west end of the battlefield, so it was possible to get shots with clean backgrounds. This year was different. There has been a substantial amount of Photoshopping to deal with all the spectators. Please don't look too closely.
