On A Winter Day

            Summer is not the best time on the Northern California Pacific Coast as the fog sometimes never recedes. On this mid-winter day in February the air was sparkling and the fields of mustard weed were already in full bloom.

Pigeon Point is a New England style lighthouse; named after a ship named Carrier Pigeon that sank here in 1853. It's the tallest lighthouse on the west coast.

This is quite similar to the view below that I posted a few weeks ago, but I like this one better because there's more yellow in the foreground, less plain blue sky, and the lighthouse isn't centered..

I processed this image today and ordered a 16x20 canvas from "Canvas on Demand" (after buying a Groupon code a few weeks ago for just $45). Can't wait to see it and I'll let you know how it turns out !
