Looking somewhat out of place in at a GWR Station LNER A4 Pacific 60009 UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA is seen at Llangollen Station. April 17, 1993. She was at the railway as a substitute for 4472 FLYING SCOTSMAN whose visit was cancelled due to technical problems.

The LNER and GWR did actually meet just a few miles away at Wrexham Central with the LNER line from Bidston, Wirral meeting the GWR line from Ellesmere.
