Class 47 D1584 LCGB Bluebell Railtour - May 08, 1971

Class 47 D1584 photographed at Kensington Olympia on the Locomotive Club of Great Britain (LCGB) Bluebell Railtour on May 08, 1971. The railtour had commenced at Liverpool Lime Street running via Didcot, Kensington Olympia to Haywards Heath for a bus connection (Southdown Motor Services) to the Bluebell Railway. I was 11 years of age when this photograph was taken on my then current camera a Kodak Brownie 127.

Class 47 D1584 was completed and numbered on May 16th, 1964. On renumbering she was originally allocated 47021 but this was not carried being numbered 47531 in 1974. She was renumbered 47974 in 1990 and 47531 in 1992. Her final number was 47775 being assigned on December 1st, 1993. She was scrapped at Crewe in April 2006. (Source: www.class47.co.uk)
