YB69OBV DAF LF290 Skip Wagon 077 - a photo on Flickriver

            Our new DAF skip wagon, 290 engine, nine speed manual gearbox, dif lock and Hyva skip unit. I ordered this because of the advent of city emission charging zones, particularly Leeds, which was supposed to start at the beginning of 2020. Our skip wagon travels to Leeds and Manchester regularly and Sheffield occasionally so I couldn't really ignore the situation. I ordered the wagon way back last year. The Leeds zone has now been postponed as central governments part of the charging infrastructure isn't in place. The annoying thing is that there was nothing wrong with my old wagon, a 61 plate that went on the road on Jan 2012 and was very low mileage. The Hyva unit would have transferred but you then start with type approval issues and time off the road when a vehicle would have to be hired in to cover the time off the road for the body swap and repainting. I hate taking delivery of new equipment at this time of year as the weather makes it much harder to get the photos that I want. The wagon is only new briefly and the photos can be used in marketing for quite a while so I need to get them as soon as the wagon arrives. unfortunately, the weather was dull and grey at the time. We used the wagon for a week, washed it and I had a shoot in better weather on a Saturday morning, the light was so so but it was blowing a gale, literally. I could hardly stand up and anything I leaned against moved in the wind.
