Palendorp - a photo on Flickriver

Palendorp

            The monument Palendorp on the beach consists of a 160 poles of six to twelve meters in length. The poles are in the form of ten houses and a church. It’s a reminder of the old village Petten, which was flooded by the sea a long time ago.

Das Denkmal Palendorp am Strand besteht aus 160 Pfählen mit einer Länge von sechs bis zwölf Metern. Die Stangen haben die Form von zehn Häusern und einer Kirche. Sie erinnern an das alte Dorf Petten, das vor langer Zeit vom Meer überflutet wurde.
