100 Strangers 15/100 Hiroha - a photo on Flickriver

Hiroha is an office worker from Tokyo. She was on a short trip to Kyoto with her friend. I noticed her because she was unusually tall for a Japanese girl. It is not that clear from the photograph but I was looking up at her when I took this photo. It was a windy and cold day and she was wrapped in a thick shawl.

She had a graceful almost regal air about her. She moved and smiled slowly, and had an enigmatic gaze. Unfortunately she was a little reticent so we didn't really talk much. I didn't want to push it, so i just took a couple of shots and said thank you.

This was taken in Kiyomizu Temple. Again it was crowded and I had moved her over to an edge so I could get a cleaner background. It was shot at f2 to get a shallow depth of field, and 1/500 to prevent any motion blur. It was late and the sky was overcast so the light was dull, and the image looks a little flat.
