Centurion and HMS Finisterre (D55) - Cowes, Isle of Wight - England - Postcard

            HMS Finisterre was a Battle-class destroyer of the Royal Navy, the ultimate RN destroyer class of WW2. 

In this photo it is believed she was acting as the RN Cowes Week guardship in 1951.

The SPG ship 'Centurion' is much more of a mystery. She is presumably a replica but doesn't appear to exactly match Admiral Anson's (a Captain at the time) ship of the name, of 1732, though is thought to be of about that era.

That said she is quite a good-looking replica. Not yet sure when built, or her fate. There seems to be very little information.

It would be nice to have a replica of the original 'HMS Centurion' in Portsmouth Dockyard, a 60-gun fourth rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, built at Portsmouth.
