Cedarville Cemetery, Memorial Day 2012

            This Memorial Day service is acted out every year at the cemetery where my wife's relatives are buried.  It is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, up along a tributary flowing in to Lake Michigan.  Veterans of past wars and conflicts march in presenting the colors, taps is played, and three rounds of shots are fired off.  The graves of veterans are decorated with a special flag.  At the end a minister talks about the meaning of Memorial Day.

I made this image with my Pentax K5 and Pentax 18-135mm lens. Processing was done in Aperture 3.
