Worshiping The Light God! Hexagenia limbata

            Hexagenia limbata is one of Wisconsin's largest mayflies.  They emerge from the mud of lakes and streams at dusk and into the night.  These insects bring out from their hiding places the biggest trout in a stream.  And this brings out a contingent of deet soaked, slightly deranged fly fishermen after the fish of their lifetime.  

On this night my friend caught two huge fish, I caught none, but I did get a lot of nice images of this biological phenomenon.

As we were leaving the stream I saw this Hex on his cap and made the image.,
