"Last Rose Of 2013" - a photo on Flickriver

"Last Rose Of 2013"

            Heading out of the house on November 2, I saw the last rose of the year along the driveway.  Now it's gone,we will see them again in June of 2014, but I have this moment in time recorded. I can examine it more closely now.  I see the rain drops from last night, the mottled, pink leaves with serrated edges, the stamens in the middle, and of course the pink petals.  Still beautiful in a special way!

Being a photographer has helped me see things like this..  When I walk around in life now I see images.  What a great thing this is---I am noticing the world around me in a more intimate way.

I made this image with my Pentax K5 and Pentax 18-135mm lens.  Processing was done in Aperture 3.
