Marken. Holanda - a photo on Flickriver

Marken. Holanda

            Muy cerca de Amsterdam  se encuentran  dos ciudades preciosas Marken y Volendam. Alli me fui a pasar el día  tomando una excursion guiada desde Amsterdam.
Marken en la provincia de Waterland ,era una isla que fue unida al continente por un dique construido en 1957, también  está considerada como parte del Patrimonio Nacional. 
 Es un gran centro turístico y las personas visten con el tradicional traje holandés..En esta excursión pude comprobar la fuerza del Mar del Norte, es que  la parte oriental de la isla,  conserva bajo el agua restos de un claustro medieval arrasado por el oleaje… de este modo lo que antes era una isla, fue perdiendo un tercio de su superficie total.
