Reflection - a photo on Flickriver

Reflection

            Lisbon’s Oceanarium stands alone like an island in the middle of a man made bay, while the calm water around it serves as playground to fish and seagulls. Connecting it the the mainland there is only a bridge that leads the visitors in and out.
The area where this building is inserted is densely urban and that’s what I love the most about this place: the cross between two different worlds. One is the human and urban world, with people jogging, walking their dogs and car horns sounding in the distance while Uber drives come in and out of the McDonald’s restaurant nearby. The other one is the sea animal world, with all sorts of species inside the aquarium, completely unaware of the life that unfolds around them. 
Standing here, at the edge of the water that surrounds the building, I could hear the ambience sounds that go on inside. Birds tweet and leafs rush agains one another, giving the whole place a more natural feel.
Indifferent to all this is the building itself. The center of my attention and admiration, with the straight lines and diverse textures that attract me and make for an amazing shot. Adding up to all this, the clouds in the sky decided to help me out and create an amazing textured and color rich golden hour.
