Still of the Morning - a photo on Flickriver

It was a chilly sunrise on my first morning out in the Bayou. The air was crisp and the waters serene. Once the darkness began to lift I could slowly make out the landscape. Right there in front of me was this row of trees silhouetted against the water.

I went for a long exposure here to smoothen out the water and to catch the early colors of the band of Venus. Although most of the clouds were to the east, a few patches of clouds positioned themselves just over the row of trees creating some adornments for the sky. The first morning out was more or less to familiarize ourselves with the conditions and learning how to compose scenes. However it was still a very successful first day where I managed to get several keepers .

Again, a big thanks to David for showing us around as Aaron, Carolyn, and I had a blast exploring the Bayou.
