July 18th 2015 - Las Vegas

            An extract from this days Journal entry:-

Today was a free day on our itinerary.  Some people took a flight over the Hoover Dam, others took flights over the Grand Canyon.  I decided to explore Las Vegas, only it didn't quite work out that way.

This morning I was awake at 6:45, much too early for my free day.  I rolled over, went back to sleep and woke 3 hours later. What a great way to start the day, refreshed for the first time since I left home.  

There was a queue for breakfast, I stood in line for the best part of an hour.  After breakfast, which was really lunch, I went out into the street and almost fainted.  The temperature was 105 Farenheidt, this was no day for exploring.

Back in my hotel room I downloaded my photos from last night and wrote up my Journal.  I would have spent time online had there been any internet service in the rooms, or even in the lobby, but there's not.  No clocks and no internet in Vegas I'm told.  They want us in the casino playing games of no chance, not online.  

In the relative cool of the evening I walked south along The Strip, last night I went to the north.  Another evening taking photos and making movies, spoke with some more ladies whose clothes were at the laundry.  Their are some clean living girls in this town, their mothers would be mighty proud of them.
